50th ERNE HEAD OF THE RIVER RACE and Celebratory Dinner, 2007 The annual Erne Head of the River Race will take place over the traditional course of approximately six kilometres on Saturday 3 March 2007. The Roll Call will be at 11.45 at Portora Boathouse with launching beginning at 12.15. It is essential for all coxes to attend and to wear lifejackets during the race. The race will start at 2.15 sharp. Classes will be as follows:- EIGHTS FOURS (Entry Fee £25 or 35 euros) (Entry Fee £15 or 20 euros) MEN Senior MEN Senior (4x-, 4+ or 4-) Intermediate Intermediate (4+ or 4x) Novice Junior 18 (4x- or 4+) Veteran (include average age for handicapping) Junior 16 (4x+) Junior 18 Junior 16 WOMEN Senior WOMEN Senior (4+, 4- or 4x-) Intermediate Novice Junior 18 MAXIMUM ENTRY FEE FOR ANY CLUB IS £150 or 210 euros Cheques should be made payable to "PORTORA BOAT CLUB" Prizes will be as follows: Pewter tankards will be presented to the fastest mens crew, the fastest womens crew and the fastest veteran crew. There are perpetual trophies for each of the Men's Senior, Junior 18 and Junior 16 eights events and for the fastest Junior 18 four or quad, and each class winner will be presented with a pennant providing that there are at least two entries in that class. Prizes will be presented at 4.30 pm. Veteran crews please note that they will be handicapped in accordance with the usual handicapping system. Entries should be made on the standard IARU entry forms and should be with the Secretary before 7.00 pm on Wednesday 21st February 2007. Ireland BT74 7HA Erne Head of the River 50th Anniversary Dinner A celebratory dinner will be held in the school Dining Hall at 7.30pm for 8.00pm on the evening of Saturday 3rd March and it is hoped that many of the competitors will be able to remain after the race for the dinner. There will be a wine reception followed by a three course meal and bottles of wine will be available for purchase with the meal. Dress will be blazers or smart casual.
